Fast Fitness Japan, Inc. operates a studio and gym fitness business and an e-commerce product sales business with a focus on its core Anytime Fitness business for which it is the master franchisee.
Chuck and Dave, the co-founders of Anytime Fitness, started their business with this simple question. They founded their ideal club in Minneapolis, U.S.A. in 2002.
“As ordinary people, what we truly need isn’t excessive services or a luxurious space. But that doesn’t mean we want to be treated like products on a conveyor belt, either. We want a space that feels just right, with kind and friendly service — and, above all, we don’t want to waste the motivation to work out.” This idea led to the creation of Anytime Fitness, a 24/7 fitness gym.
Anytime Fitness proposed their ideal form of a new fitness club, which instantly fulfilled the needs of general consumers in America.

After opening the first club in Minneapolis, they increased the number of clubs in a very short period of time.
It only took ten years from the opening of the first club for them to open their 2,000th club in 2012. Three years later, they found themselves operating over 3,000 clubs in 22 countries around the world.
Their growth is regarded as tremendous in all types of location operation businesses, in addition to the fitness industry.
Their growth potential is far from fading; rather, it is still evolving.
Anytime Fitness originated in the U.S., a country that is a leader in fitness, and now general consumers in the U.S. and around the world have accepted their new proposal.
Today, there are 5,500 clubs in 29 countries and regions around world (as of December 2024; of these clubs, 2,565 are in the U.S.A. and Canada where there are the master franchisers).

Under our purpose, “Get to a healthier place,” we at Fast Fitness Japan have been engaged in a number of social contribution activities while operating the Anytime Fitness business since 2010 to achieve “a society where everyone can live a healthy and fulfilling life.”
At the time that we were founded, we received a lot of negative feedback about the 24-hour fitness club business, for example, people said that it would be difficult to manage clubs devoted to using machines to exercise in Japan and that there was no demand for 24-hour fitness clubs.
24/7 operation, satisfactory monthly membership fees, gyms specializing in fitness machines, and allowing members to access to all of the clubs. All of these concepts of Anytime Fitness were outside the common wisdom of conventional fitness club management in Japan.
However, the elements of the concept were aligned perfectly with the needs of users who were not satisfied with the conventional fitness clubs. Anytime Fitness satisfied these needs themselves, enabling a new standard to take root.
In Japan, the first club was opened in Chofu City, Tokyo in October 2010. One year after it opened, the club has successfully grown to over 800 members, significantly surpassing its target.
The business has subsequently continued to grow successfully for more than a decade. By April 2020, Anytime Fitness clubs had spread to all 47 prefectures of Japan. As of September 2023, 1,100 clubs are operating across the nation.
The first club was opened in Chofu City in 2010.
